Inspección Téchnica de Vehículos

Don Duende was up and out early this morning. He was mumbling to himself " i, te, ve" which I now know to be the Spanish equivalent of the British MOT for vehicles. I spent the morning loafing on the terrace. The big truck passed its ITV so Don Duende was happy.

Factoid: Inspección Tecnica de Vehiculos. All private vehicles are exempt from inspection for the first four years, and then go in every two years until they are ten years old. After ten years they must be checked annually. The purpose of the inspection is to ensure that all vehicles are road worthy with regards to safety features such as lights, indicators, horn and seat belts. Features affecting public safety are checked including breaks, hazard lights and emissions.
