Amato El Pato

I met Amato el pato today down at the park. He was telling us how his ancestors moved from France to settle in Spain.

Me: Do you know what they call a Quarter Pounder with cheese in France?
Amato: No.
Me: Tell him, Don D.
Don D: Royale with cheese.
Me: Royale with cheese. Do you know why they call it a Royale with cheese?
Amato: Because of the metric system?
Me: Check out the big brain on Amato. You one smart motherf*%*er.

Factoid: A restaurant in Spain knocked Britain's Fat Duck off its perch as the world's best eatery. El Bulli in northern Spain regained the top spot it last held in 2002 in a poll by industry bible, Restaurant magazine. Since 2002, the Costa Brava eaterie, where legendary chef Ferran Adria practises his art, has never reached less than third place in the World's 50 Best Restaurants competition.

From the first sip of the proffered aperitif at El Bulli — a frozen gin with hot lemon fizz — you know you're in for something different. Ferran Adria has won the adulation of food critics and cooks by whipping up startling combinations of texture, temperature and taste. Set on an isolated beach on Spain's Catalan coast near the town of Rosas, El Bulli has become a pilgrimage site for foodies brave enough to make the dizzying drive down for the experience.

Want to make a reservation? Not easy. Each year 500,000 people chase 8,000 places.
